With millions of people relying on personal vehicle, taxis, buses, and rideshares , NYC has some of the densest traffic conditions in the country. This congestion not only affects daily commuters but also contributes to a staggering number of automobile accidents. Using data from the NYC Motor Vehicle Collisions data set, provided by the NYPD, we will explore the multifaceted cause of traffic congestion and leading factors behind the high rates of accidents in New York City.
New York City Shooting Victim Research
This analysis utilizes data on shooting incidents across New York City’s five boroughs from 2013 to 2023, sourced from the NYPD and publicly available on NYC Open Data. The dataset, updated quarterly and reviewed by the Office of Management Analysis and Planning, provides comprehensive details on each incident, including the event’s location, date, and time. Additionally, demographic information on both suspects and victims is included, allowing for a deeper exploration of patterns and trends in shooting incidents across the city.
